Lee & Lee Associates Participated in Worldwide Conference of Leading Local Professional Services Firms in Australia

A representative from Lee & Lee Associates attended the Alliott Group 2017 Worldwide Conference in Sydney. Membership of Alliott Group and participation in the international association’s conferences form an integral part of our firm’s international strategy to ensure our clients have access to the services of other like-minded professional firms across the world’s major commercial centres.

Lee & Lee Associates joined approximately 80 professional advisors from 54 firms in 27 countries and leading consultants to the professions to learn and to exchange and share knowledge on how to build the business of a professional services firm in the international marketplace and how to excel in providing cross border services to commercial and private clients.

The conference was hosted by Alliott Group (www.alliottgroup.net), one of the world’s leading international associations of independent accounting firms and law firms, of which Lee & Lee Associates is the representative member in Beijing of P.R. China.

Our professional returned with greater insights into the international trade and investment opportunities offered by Australia’s open market economy and with the requisite strong personal connections to professional advisors in Australia (and in other countries) that ensure services can be provided to clients as seamlessly as possible whenever they are needed in different jurisdictions.

According to the Austrade, the Australian Government’s Trade & Investment Commission, Australia is the world’s 13th largest economy with GDP of US$1.3 trillion and is “forecast to realise average annual real GDP growth of 2.9% over the next five years, the highest among major advanced economies.” Austrade also states that “Australia is expected to realise average annual real GDP growth of 2.9% between 2017 and 2021 – the highest among major advanced economies and up from an average growth rate of 2.7% between 2012 and 2016.” Australia is also well positioned as a trade and investment hub for international companies doing business with Asia.

The representative from our firm also attended specialist meetings focused on legal, international tax, corporate finance and M&A, and global mobility where they will exchange views on the likely impact on foreign businesses and internationally mobile individuals of major international developments such as President Trump’s U.S. immigration reforms, the OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting project (BEPS) and the UK’s proposed exit from the European Union in March 2019.

James Hickey, Alliott Group’s CEO comments: “The opportunities for learning, sharing and exchanging information on how to become the ‘go to’ local firm for businesses and individuals with multi-market needs continue to improve with each Alliott Group conference. This year, we aim to set new standards and to ensure that each and every attendee returns to their firm with new ideas, new inspiration, new contacts and of course new business leads.”

This year’s keynote speaker was Rob Nixon of Panalitix, author of best-selling books The Perfect Firm and Remaining Relevant. Rob led a workshop that explained why attendees must change their business models to survive.
